LondonEats.com Review:
This chippie does cod, Dover sole, haddock with chips and prices range from £6.60 to £12.50 (for the Dover Sole). Why not finish off with cherry pie and custard (£2.50)?Payment

Steven Friday, April 24, 2009 | Rating: I loved it, the food was great, the service was good, and best of all the deserts are lovely! This place is definately the best for fish and chips in the east end!7153 |

Main Course: One Haddock, Overcooked and chewy. One Scampi, again overcooked, chewy and hard. Salad: Limp. Sadly the Dove Sole, Lemon Sole & Sea Bass where all out of stock. Desert: None. 7066 |
Steven Thomas Thursday, April 12, 2007 | Rating: Ive starting going to this restaurant quite regulary, as recommended from a friend which i thank so much. About four years ago there were turkish owners, as my friend had a bad experiance. He started going there about two years ago as theres now new owners. He told me he really enjoyed himself as the fish and service was fantastic as his girl friend agreed. So i gave it go, it was the best fish i have ever had, my girl friend loves there grilled Halibut, its some thing else!! It was Good Friday, the restaurant was full there was about 30 people waiting for a table, we got a table about 20 minutes later as the staff was very helpful. I was sitting next this table who sais their fish was no good apparently, i dont believe that i saw that the bones were even sucked from the skate. I think louise didnt want to pay the bill, because everyone in the restaurant was very pleased with the service and food. I felt sorry for the manager as he listened to the abuse louise gave him because she didnt want to pay the bill, he controlled himself very well, he seems like a friendly guy, with good experiance, as i saw on friday. It was funny as all other customers were laughing at this table, espcially as there saw there plates were licked clean!!!!!!!!! I advise everyone to give it a go. 5232 |
louise Friday, April 06, 2007 | Rating: This is a very poor restaurant. We ordered 2 skate (£13.90 each) and 1 cod (11.50).All was overcooked, dry and tasteless!!! We also orded a mixed salad at £5. This consisted of cucumber, tomato and a slice of lemon in the middle. This was small and very poor for a restaurant salad (lettuce is also part of a salad!)! The only thing they got right was a guerkin but thats not hard is it? We complained and asked to speak to the manager. He had no customer service skills what so ever. He did not like the fact that we was complaining with other customers in the restaurant listening. He was very rude and abrupt. As our meal was so bad i explained that i wish for something to be done with our bill. HE ONLY TOOK OFF THE SALAD. Our bill then come to £47.70, this is with the discount for 3 people. The fish was in very dark batter which looked like it was fried in old chip fat and had been in for far too long. He shortly lost his temper and we paid and walked out. He followed us to the car saying "Don't f***ing bother coming back".This was highly unprofessional and a really bad service from the manager! We have been twice hoping that our meal would be better this time but it only gets worse. Overall this is OVERPRICEDand comes with a pile of old chip fat! my advice - go to your local chippy!!!!!!!!!!5223 |
Rolly Smith Friday, March 16, 2007 | Rating: The food is fantastic, the service is prompt and friendly. Even though some people may see it a little bit expensive, the bottom line is "you get what you pay for". To be frank when you sit in and dine in the traditional looking resturant you wont find better fish and chips anywhere else.Keep up th traditional look of the resturant and the great quality of food. See you lot in faulkners on Friday! 5162 |
