LondonEats.com Review:

Great party place for gangs of friends that like a Greek Meze (a selection of about 20 fish and meat dishes) and dancing. Not exactly the coolest venue in London (they still have candles in bottles on the tables) - but friendly service and great atmosphere. In fact they won't let you have a bad night there - it has a late bar licence and live music (English, not Greek) 7 nights per week.

Expect to pay £15-20 per person excluding drinks.

I don't recognise the restaurant that is in previous (bad) reviews having been to the Lantern this evening with friends, The service was exceptional and the food very good for the price.
If you are looking for good straightforward greek food in a friendly restaurant - this place is just the ticket.
My only criticism would be the coriander in the greek salad that I would have preferred to be basil.

The worst restaurant experience I have had for a long time, possibly ever. This place used to be a reasonable, atmospheric greek restaurant. We turned up tonight to find that the place has been refurbished and lost all of its atmosphere, apparently the owner died late last year and it is now run by his daughter.

Now, the food. It is possible that the fish meze (9.95/head, six different dishes) came straight out of a box from a freezer at Iceland (with the exception of the taramasalata and the salad, i presume). The filo wrapped prawns were identical to those you get in cheap chinese and thai takeaways UK-wide, the portions were small and we ended up still feeling hungry despite the bread, salad and an extra side dish ordered. We didn't want a huge meal, but what we had was awful. The staff were OK, not rude, but never attentive and the place was nowhere near full (this time last year on a Saturday night the place would have been rammed.)
After clearing our own dishes and waiting far too long to receive our bill we got up and went to pay at the front desk, upon which we discussed our disappointment with a waiter and then the manager. Without even bothering to listen to our protestations about the derisory quality of the food, he decided to demonstrate incredible arrogance and aggression in talking down to us in a condescending and patronising manner.

Don't waste your money here, go to Iceland, buy the £1.99 100 piece fried prawns and fish party box and stick it in the oven.

Complete load of rubbish, staff were rude food was late and cold, the portions were pathetic, we went with a group of work collegues and booked in advance as there was going to be 15 of us, they asked us to bring cash as 'there card machine was not working'

So not only are the owners not paying any tax, but this place was probably the worst restaurant I've ever been too, we were all dissapointed and felt completely ripped off. When we complained to the manager who was sitting in a corner table playing cards he just laughed and shrugged it off!

please do yourself a favour and avoid this place or you will leave thinking there was a hole in your pocket....

What a joke and a waste of time and money, especially considering the option of all the other resturants in Ealing. This was the worst Greek restaurant I have ever been to and I make the mistake of taking my wife and child with me. The staff were not friendly and gave the impression that they couldn't be bothered. The food was below the standard that I have been used to.

I for sure, will not be going back there again.
