Ruth Perrelli Sunday, March 20, 2005 | Rating: I took my four year old son and best mate one Sunday evening. The staff were fantastic, they made us feel really welcome. We asked to sit in a booth, which was great with a small child and my son was given some crayons and a peice of paper to draw the waitress! The cocktails were nice and I wasn't charged for one I had ordered and didn't like, which was my fault not theirs. The food was only average though and the child's meal was overpriced but all in all we had a positive experience, I would go back, especially as I paid with £100.00 of my Tesco deals vouchers and our fantastic waitress didn't make me feel uncomfortable in the slightest!3181 |
Dave Sunday, April 11, 2004 | Rating: This restaurant is one available to users of the Tesco Clubcard Deals scheme. After dining at most of the others, which were all excellent, we decided to give it a try. We expected something a bit special as it boasts Bill Wyman's ownership. Arriving on a Saturday afternoon with my family of five, we were greeted by a friendly and efficient waitress. The ambience was a bit disappointing. If it wasn't for the Rolling Stones memorabilia on the walls Pizza Hut would beat it hands down. The brown varnished wooden tables are well worn and have no mats or covering of any kind. We ordered a large starter to share, which was reasonably tasty but noting special (nachos with melted cheese etc). My youngest daughter ordered a kids meal; the main course of which was delivered at the same time as our starter. It was returned to the kitchen, with us left feeling awkward. When it returned with our main course it had obviously been reheated and looked even less appetising than on its first visit (overcooked burger in a plain bun with chips and a few bits of lettuce on the side). As I don't eat meat I had taken the trouble to check the menu on the restaurant's web site. The menu offered a variety of fish dishes in a separate paragraph on the menu, along with other options. Sadly the fish section was no longer on the menu in the restaurant and I had to settle for a very bland veggie burger and chips. My eldest daughter's burger was cooked rare, which she found inedible. It's not often we leave the pattern on the plate after a meal, but this time there was plenty of food for the kitchen staff to scrape into the bin. Despite the very disappointing main course we decided to stick with it and enjoy a dessert. Unfortunately it wasn't to be. The menu was so long arriving we had to leave to return to our car on a meter. Credit where it's due though: It must take real effort to maintain the authentic third world toilet facilities! 2062 |
Barry Armstrong Monday, January 05, 2004 | Rating: 7.30 pm New Years Eve and to celebrate my wifes b'day my family (4 adults) decided to try Sticky Fingers. Having booked in advance we arrived cold but happy, and were welcomed and shown to a rather cramped table with no where to hang heavy coats. After requesting a booth with more space, reluctently we were permitted to move even though at that time there were plenty of empty tables and booths. Not a good start, but we were determined to have a good time. The ambience was good and it felt like a good place to be, our waitress was very attentive and responded when required and took our orders. The starter Nachos, were great and the wine reasonable so far so good but then a long wait for our mains. First my daughters rib rack arrived along with my burger, all the food was cold and the ribs almost inedible, they were dry and hard with no bbq sauce. Not causing a fuss we began to tackle what was presented. Twenty mins later we had to protest that we were still awaiting two meals ( pulled duck fahitas ), after a while they arrived, four lumps of duck on a pile of hot onions & peppers, sadly the accompanying Tacos were frozen. The waitress was super she handled our problem with a friendly and professional manner and when asked to inform our happy greeting person did so imediately. This lady did obviously not want to talk to us, although we clearly saw her being given this information she gave a stern look in our direction and continued to ignore us even though she was not busy. Eventualy our lovely waitress pointed out the manager to us who also handled the situation professionaly reducing our bill by 50% of the total. Would we go back sadly no! it's a great shame when problems do occur staff do not All react in a professional way. Points out of 10 - 2 1516 |
