LondonEats.com Review:
Planet Hollywood opened in London in April 2003 and is one busy place, join the queue at the weekends (or book online). The movie decor theme is well known and there are also a number of private dining areas including the 'Bond Room' which has memorabilia from all the 007's.Selections from menu include a VIP Platter - £19.50 (for four people to share) which has buffalo wings, texas nachos, chicken crunch and blackened jumbo shrimp. The Planet Hollywood Burger for £9.95 is a classic hamburger on a home-style bun with lettuce, tomato, onion & pickle, served with a side of French fries. Other dishes inlcude Steaks, Salads, Pastas, Fish and Chips and Banger and Mash.
If you have room for a dessert then there is Double Chocolate Brownie at £6.25 with nuts and vanilla ice cream smothered in hot fudge sauce, or White Chocolate Bread Pudding at £6.25 served warm with vanilla ice cream and Jim Beam bourbon sauce.

vanessa Saturday, November 15, 2008 | Rating: In my opioion don't go - there are plenty of other much better restaurants aroung TFi and sorry to say but even Macdonalds and Burger King are far superior.Firstly as I presume the restaurant is for familiies and children, the film decor is entirely inappropriate - how many childrne have or should have seen Alien, Terminator, Die Hard, and to have a carcass of a cow hanging over our table when we were eating burgers didn't seem at all right!! Planet Hollywood obviously has not been updated for years - children didn't know any of the films other than dated 007 and one jacket from Grease. We were the first customers in at 11.30 there were only 5 covers in the whole restaurant and the service was appalling. There must have been 10 staff floating around and I had to ask somebody to come and take the order. I watched food being put on the hot plate and staff walking backwards iand forwards in front of it - it must have been there at least 5 minutes before somebody took it. The prices for the Childrens menu were pretty reasonable but only one option for a vegetarian, However my daughter was not that impressed with it and couldn't even be bothered to have the icecream dessert. My other daughter and myself had a burger with blue cheese. It was awful very dry - it was a burger bun with a dry burger in it and dry stilton crumbled on top - i had expected the cheese bo be slightly melted. The garnish which consisted of red onion, a leaf of salad a tomato and slicked gurkin was ok but I put this in the burger to add flavour. Ketchup and french mustard was put on the table but I had to ask for mayonaise - I had a burger and I had to ask for mayonaise!!!! The promotional prices were fine, but I would have still preferred a Burger King! tastier and cheaper. Also the icing on the cake is the compulsary service charge - perhaps if this was removed staff may work a bit harder to earn it!! 6464 |
aidan portway Tuesday, May 13, 2008 | Rating: never even got inside.... my son is epileptic and when we tried to go in were bombarded by flashing lights pretending to be camera bulbs. there was no warning outside and it was only through my sons quick reactions that we made a hasty exit otherwise he could have had a fit. this is totaly irreposibe and there SHOULD have been some warnig. IF YOU ARE AFFECTED BY FLASHING LIGHTS DONT GO IN. 6033 |
danielle Sunday, March 25, 2007 | Rating: Awful, shabby, dingy, cheap plastic table cloths , ripped seats and faux leather menus...kids so disappointed, food was terrible and tasted of stale dirty oil, my fish was unfilleted and after picking out the tenth huge bone I gave up and left it. There were tiles missing from walls in the tiny dirty toilets. We sat in the horror area (you don't get a choice) and the kids found it difficult eating with a plastic decaying zombie with ancient dusty party poppers hanging off him suspended over our table. I can without consideration say that it is the worst place I have ever been to and the fact that we had to try and eat there made it a hideous experience , we literally couldn't wait to get out of there, we skipped dessert and the bill still came to over £100 with a compulsory £20 service charge!!! unbelieveable!!!5183 |
