Drinks must be ordered from the counter and the survice can be a bit cold, otherwise, spectacular food and very enjoyable. Can get a bit noisy however. |

Service was slow and not very cheerful. Apart from this, the food was very nice and the restaurant had a generally nice feel about it. |

We ate at Coal on a Friday night, we were really disappointed with the food and wine, which was a real shame as the service was great! The wine and the champagne were warm. The spicy pasta was anything but, and the pasta itself was overcooked. Unfortunately this was not a problem the bombay potatoes had, which were as hard as rocks. Would not eat there again, but would go back for drinks as very handy for the cinema. |

Well after persuading a number of my work colleagues to try a new venue in Camden we were very disappointed. The service was very slow, when the food eventually came in fits and starts the fries came first all cold, then the main part. We informed the waitress and she said the kitchen was busy and could cook some more but would have to wait . . . we declined but suggested that the bill reflected this. The manager came to our table and argued that we should pay service and just accept a discount on the fries, when we pointed out that the service was descretionary she flounced off saying she didn't have to deal with this as the Kitchen was busy. Needless to say I walked by later in the night and she was outside chatting on her mobile. I wouldn't recommend anyone go there - a shame as was willing to give a new venue some custom and would have return if good! |

Oh what a great venue. Had an absolute fantastic night here again. It’s really come on in leaps and bounds. Had read a few old reviews, seems they have taken note and spruced the place right up. Dinner was a feast to behold yet we paid so little considering it’s a Central London restaurant/bar, no wonder it was well occupied all night, it was really yummy. All the staff were very approachable and made us feel welcome and appreciated, which makes a change from the usual snooty types found almost everywhere else. Drinks were bloody strong, really good value. The nightclub started just before 11pm, great people to party with, music made my feet hurt by the end of the night (what a friendly DJ! took all our requests and played them!). Grab your friends and get down there if you want a guaranteed great night out after a lovely dinner with a lovely crowd. |

The food here is ok - nothing to rave about. Ambience - nil. Service - absolutely TERRIBLE, from the amount of time it took for food to arrive to the downright rude staff. I would really recommend that you go elsewhere if you don't want a horribly frustrating dining experience! |

I have been to PoppyHana several times in the past and have to say I agree with the previous review - they provide good food at reasonable prices and great service - and being located just 5 doors down from Bermondsey Tube Station makes it really easy to get to. |

Beautiful food, great staff, little bit pricey but as to be expected for the Gordon Ramsey experince. Will defitley go there again for a special occassion |

Found l'Arco through a search of restaurant websites, and thought it looked a suitable place for a casual weekday dinner. There is a very good reason why they don't display their winelist outside: it's unbelievably extortionate! £25 for a bottle of Asti(!) anyone?? Asked for a bottle of house white instead (no description given on menu), which came in a label-less bottle. Needless to say, it was completely undrinkable. As for the service ... our waiter brought over the specials list after we'd ordered from the main menu. This could have been overlooked, if he hadn't also been extremely rude - since when has it been the waiter's role to tell a customer that they're in a bad mood?! (Which, incidentally, I wasn't until I encountered this man.) Having complained about the house wine, the waiter then launched into a diatribe about it being one of the "best Italian wines". Hmmm. Quite frankly, I'm not willing to be spoken to like that, or fleeced by a wine list, so we left without eating. Tip to the management? Know your competition: there are plenty of places nearby where you can get far better service, in a far nicer environment and with a sensible, good quality winelist. |
