Chinese New Year is the biggest festival of the year in Chinese communities. Based on the lunar and solar calendars, the date varies from late January to mid-February each year.
In London there is a parade from 11am starting at The Strand, along Charing Cross Road and Shatesbury Avenue. From 12 noon 5:30pm are are dragon and lion dances in Trafalgar Square and then a fireworks display Leicester Square at 2pm and 5pm.
There are lots of food stalls along the route and of course a huge number of Chinese restaurants as well to choose from.
