On Monday 10th April the World’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy revealed the results of the 2006 list of the panel of 560 judges – international chefs, critics and restaurateurs.

The Roux family take home two awards tonight – Michel Roux and Albert Roux are jointly awarded the American Express Lifetime Achievement award, while Albert’s son Michel Roux jr’s restaurant Le Gavroche wins the Tibard Outstanding Value award. Chef’s Chef, Pierre Gagnaire (#3) showcases his style in London at Sketch where he has floored critics and wowed Restaurant Magazine’s readers so much that it was the out and out winner of the Alliance Readers’ Choice award.
