Andy Vama

One of India's most famous TV chefs is offering the chance to discover the secrets of Indian cuisine at his restaurant Vama. The new Spring-Summer term of one-day cookery classes will be taking place from 15th March, 2003 through to 21st June, 2003.

Co-owner and Executive Chef Andy Varma will share some of his top gastronomic secrets, which have made Vama one of the best Indian restaurants in London. The classes, open to the public, have already built up a following amongst food lovers wishing to cook authentic Indian cuisine in their own homes.

Students will be invited to watch, listen and learn about different styles and methods of Indian cooking. The class begins with a short theoretical lesson about the history of Indian cuisine and the use of different spices. Then it's straight down to the kitchen for a practical session, before sitting down to enjoy the taste of one's learning.

The classes will be held in small groups and new Spring-Summer term will run from October through to November. The cost of each class will be £40 per person and will include a theoretical and practical cookery lesson, a live look into the kitchen of one of the best Indian restaurants in London, special recipes and notes from Executive Chef Andy Varma, and a lunch tasting session of your own creations.

Andy Vama comments, "Indian cuisine has rapidly progressed to become one of the nation's favourite foods. The old clichés surrounding greasy curries are becoming a thing of the past as people want to enjoy clean and fresh spicy foods and the desire for people to prepare their own Indian dishes has really increased.

For more information or to book a place for a class please telephone Vama 020 7565 8500 and mention LondonEats.com.
