The Food Standards Agency (FSA) have published a list of food products that are contaminated with the illegal dye Sudan I.

Sudan I Dye
FSA Chief Executive Dr Jon Bell
Sudan dyes are red dyes that are used for colouring solvents, oils, waxes, petrol, and shoe and floor polishes. Sudan I is a dye that should not be added to food and is banned in the UK and across the EU.
A shipment of Worcestor Sauce was found to contain the illegal dye leaving the UK.
Although it is thought that there is no immediate danger, if you have any of the products at home you are advised not to eat them.
Some restaurants and takeaways have also been using products containing Sudan I. These products are being withdrawn.
Take recently purchased items listed on the FSAs Web site back to the shop that sold them to you and ask for a refund!
